KNH South Africa

Together for Children's Rights

KNH South Africa is a dedicated non-governmental organization committed to protecting and promoting the rights of children in South Africa. We support children from disadvantaged families, children with disabilities, children living on the streets and refugee children. In some of our projects, parents and community leaders form a social network in which boys and girls can grow up safely.

In South Africa, KNH supports access to quality education for children living in poverty, including those with disabilities, street children, and children from migrant families. We focus on early childhood education, inclusive schooling, and community-based learning initiatives – because education is the key to breaking the cycle of inequality and building a better future.

Through Self-Help Groups (SHGs), KNH empowers women to improve their family’s lives. In safe, supportive spaces, members learn to save money, start small businesses, and support one another. These groups are a powerful tool for economic resilience, social cohesion, and child protection – especially in marginalized communities.

Protection

Children growing up in unsafe environments need more than basic care – they need protection, stability, and a voice. KNH works with local partners to protect children from violence, neglect, and exploitation. We also support youth participation initiatives that allow young people to stand up for their own rights and shape their communities.
