KNH Malawi

Empowering Children in Malawi

In Malawi, KNH works with local partners to improve the lives of children, youth, and their families through sustainable, community-based development. The focus lies on supporting orphans and vulnerable children, especially those affected by HIV/AIDS, by providing access to education, improved nutrition, and psychosocial support.
Together with our partners, we work to reduce barriers to education, promote sustainable agriculture, and build social safety nets that give every child the opportunity to grow up in a safe and supportive environment.

Through self-help groups, women experience social, economic and political empowerment, enabling them to lead a dignified life with their children. In doing so, they free themselves from extreme poverty, give their children a better life and drive forward the development of their entire region.

Some projects in Malawi offer children with disabilities a comprehensive support programme to promote their skills and enable them to live as independently as possible and be integrated into society. The projects focus on improving the physical, cognitive and social skills of children with disabilities.
